I'm working on this as an aid to adventure-oriented RP on Furcadia. Its name is not yet settled but the working title is Oracle. You can see an example log and notes here:

    WATERWHEEL
Are you ready for summer? I sure am!

It's been a while since I posted anything here. waterwheel.zip is a SMALL patch with a SMALL dream. The name refers to a 3 frame waterwheel. There are new fence pieces done as Objects (but if you want them to actually stop somefurry, you could transplant them into a walle.fsh.) One piece turns the fence pieces into a bridge. Then there's a little 4 tile gazebo.

    HERALDS
There's a marvellous series of books by Mercedes Lackey and for a while, there was a Dream based loosely on it. Called "Arrows of the Queen", it was about young people (hyoomans) who were gathered by mystical beautiful intelligent white horses to be the elite agents of the kingdom. In a medieval fantasy setting, they're combination messengers and circuit judges called "Heralds". So I wanted to show what I imagined their training might be like. Contrast this to, say, what Harry Potter and his classmates are being taught. :)

    RATS!
feral.rat.zip is a file of non-talking quadruped rats. They fit into the Furcadia mythos by being the "feral" form of the Lycanthians, a.k.a., "werefurres". I did the first work and Mortain colored the little guys. Thanks, Mortain!

    RP: MAGIC IN THE DRAGONLANDS
This was posted in response to a furre who wanted to ban healing magic in a Dream based on Harshlaw in the Dragonlands. Magical Healing in Harshlaw, in the Dragonlands

    PUZZLERS
Furcadia could have been done a number of different styles. This patch consists of a feline male, female, and gender-neutral youth I've made for my puzzle games. You may use them in Dreams as you please. (If you want to use them for other things, please ask for my permission; these are not public domain and I may use them in something else commercially someday. :)

    DRACOSAURS
These are Furcadia's non-bipedal dragon-like riding creatures. Here at last is the Dracosaur avatar. The wings were designed by me. Bik Ookineko created a 3D mesh, and I rendered them. The rest of the figure was done entirely with 2D graphics techniques. I used Paint Shop Pro, which has LAYERS, crucial for this kind of animation. I created silhouettes, and then Mortain and Zanderguard assisted me with shading them. It's taken four years and four people to make. Good job, and thank you, my assisting artists!

  • Talzhemir's Dracosaur .ZIP

  •     We were close to having it done before the Squirrel Update. I didn't want to release it then, though: an avatar this large crashes the pre-Update client. It's fairly generic; I want a few variants, in future: striped; with different kinds of head frills; wearing tack; etc. etc.

    THE RACING GAME

At this year's Anthrocon, we did the first hallway Dracosaur Racing Game. The track is about five meters long, made of small playing cards laid out on the ground. A Dracosaur Race begins half an hour early, as prospective players must bid for, and buy, their rider package. Some Dracosaurs are a wee bit better than others... All that money went to charity. The Dracosaur Racing Game raised $138, which went to the Humane Society. I'll definitely be running another one at the Furcadia Fantasy Fair in March 2005!

The game is played with origami dragons, a statistics card, and coins. The number of heads thrown adds to a base movement score. The number of coins tossed can go up or down as the game goes on. A dracosaur that gets harried by another may lose coins as it stops to snarl and swipe.

The movement points are burned for movement but also for maneuvering, and there are three altitude levels. (Did I mention that the race course is not an open field, but a long narrow cave?) There are occasional collisions with the cave walls.

    FIX A JACK-O-LANTERN PIE
I'm a crusader for everybody to have your pumpkin and eat it too. It's rich in beta carotene (pro-vitamin A), and high in fiber. It's full of edible seeds that are rich in Vitamin E. It was served at the very first Thanksgiving, and it deserves a place in every "victory" garden. After it shrivels and caves in, it fertilizes your garden. You'll probably find them on sale CHEAP now that the spooky season is over. Please don't let this true American hero go to waste! 8) Try a pair of yummy Jack-O-Lantern Pies.

    * And if you've only had canned pumpkin, you should give this a try-- canned pumpkin is to fresh exactly like "Spam" is to fresh meat.

    THE PAKAS
This is a series that I've only posted one chapter of, so far. Drakoria is home to the empire of the Wyrmmes, but there are places (forested and mountainous, usually) where wild furres dwell. The Pakas

  • HONCHO RELEASES NEW CASTLE WALLS PATCH

    Patches by Honcho
I haven't always got time to Patch or Code a Dream, and when I want something really special, I hire Honcho. He's the creator of Furtropolis (in Acropolis), a Dream that's been up for years in Furcadia.

Whenever he makes something new, Honcho is usually inundated by requests for the patch. Now he offers them for free on his site. He's done many professional Dream commissions, too.

The site offers Honcho's quadruped feline centaur-oid. In the Furcadia canon, they're called felitaurs. They can also be used as "Chakats"-- a hermaphrodite race created by Bernard Doove. Chakats Terry Knight, John R. Plunkett and many others have written about Chakats, and, judging from the amount of art devoted to them, they're a very popular species in furry fandom.
